Diversity!
We must recognize the blend that makes up most communicational experiences we have in church contexts today.

For example, I speak to a congregation of 1800 people. On one weekend, we enjoyed birthday parties for a 90 year old and a 100 year old while at the same time rejoiced in the birth of twins.

How do you effectively communicate across that spectrum? What are some of the key concerns in doing so? What are some of the barriers that arise simply because of the diversity mix built into the communicational processes?

Key Diversity Components

Generational Mix
Potentially 6 Generations Present

Origin Mix
Racial, Ethnic, Language, & Country impact how things are heard, processed, and understood.

Bias Mix
People have their own “soul music,” set of convictions, general preferences, and conditioning as to what is appropriate and what is “tacky” or “offensive.” Biases often conflict and seem obvious to the holder and while they can seem mystifying to the beholder.
